Bauman Rare Books Locations

For over 40 years, Bauman Rare Books has been bringing the world of rare book collecting to the public. We opened our first gallery in Philadelphia in 1982 and still have an office in the city at 1608 Walnut Street. In 1989 we expanded to New York City, first to the historic Waldorf Astoria Hotel, then in 1999 to 535 Madison Avenue, and as of September 2024, to our new location at 485 Madison, between 51st and 52nd Streets. In 2008 we launched our gallery in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Palazzo in Las Vegas. Today, with three locations in three great cities, we can say with pride that literally thousands of people have been introduced to rare book collecting through us over the years.

Philadelphia Office

Bauman Rare Books opened its first offices in Philadelphia in 1982. Today we are located on the 10th floor of the historic Sun Oil Building on Walnut Street. This is the hub of the organization: where our books are researched, documented and photographed, and where our catalogues are produced. In addition, Philadelphia is the home of a substantial sales team and core staff that supports our other locations.

Our Philadelphia office is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, and is available by appointment only. We do not offer appraisal or evaluations..
